Encore une de ces bonnes compilations, où il y a réellement de quoi se mettre entre les 2 oreilles. Essentiellement des musiques d’accompagnement et d’illustration, comme intitulé « for film &TV », instrumental bien sur et furieusement efficace. John Cacavas et Pete Moore ne sont plus des inconnus pour les adorateurs du genre…Mais c’est surtout Dennis Farnon qui tient le haut du pavé avec ses 20 titres et interprétations par différents combos (The New Dance Orchestra, Sound Studio Orchestra ou encore The New Percussion Octet). Un des titres phares, à mon sens, est « The Rally » où se mixent parfaitement basse, cuivres, rythmes et groove…Mais le reste ne dépareille pas non plus avec une déclinaison oscillant entre Rhodes finement délivré, vibes, guitares wah-wah et rythmiques d’une souplesse exemplaire à l’instar du titre «Tournament ». Un très bon trip à vivre (ou à revivre !) au volant de sa Lotus Europe pourquoi pas ! ! Mais qu’en est-il du volume 2 que je recherche désespérément ? Anybody has volume 2 ? Source : cd-r.

Can you tell us more about him? Is a Canadian conductor? That's about as much as I know about him.

I dont know a lot about Dennis Farnon, and there is not a lot information about him on the web...
Anyway, don't confuse with Robert Farnon, who wrote some library music on Chappell used on "the prisoner" TV series...

Ohmigosh, this Dennis Farnon is A-MEY-ZEENG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The short violins/string section in TOURNAMENT is sublime.These instrumental tracks are so sweet and magnificent to the ears. The tinkling and scintillating instruments transports me to neverland. I posted a thank you before but I can’t resist thanking you again. I’ve done nothing but listen to this all day. Thank you so much.
j'ai le vol1 sans le 2, comme toi, et j'en suis plutôt content.
Mais je dois dire que la concurrence est reude et que je préfère sans hésitation "the sound gallery" (vol 1) et ses pépites d'alan hawkshaw, voire The cream of the Bosworth library sessions.
