Jerry Goldsmith - Planet of The Apes (OST)














On ne peut pas passer à côté de ce grand classique qu’est « La Planète Des Singes ». Surtout les 3 premiers long métrages ( sur un total de 5 ) de ce qu’est devenu une « série » ciné…Dans sa déclinaison télévisée, la bande originale fut confiée à Lalo Schifrin.. L’adaptation TV n’eut cependant pas le même succès que le film éponyme premier du nom sorti sur les écrans de cinéma en 1968. Car c’est bien celui ci que l’on retiendra en mémoire, lorsque Taylor ( Charlton Heston ) découvre la vérité sur cette bien étrange planète régie par des singes et où les humains sont traités en esclaves domestique. Parti à bord d’une fusée en compagnie de Landon et Dodge, ils ont atterri sur cette planète ressemblant étrangement à la Terre, aidé de Nova après avoir perdu ses 2 compagnons dans ce milieu hostile, il va finir par découvrir la vérité sur les bords d’une longue plage au sable fin…par une ombre tout d’abord, dans les vagues, le flux et le reflux…apparaît enfoncée à moitié dans le sable, la statue de la Liberté…Horreur ! Ils l’on fait ! !

Tout au long du film, chaque scène marquante est soutenue par des ambiances musicales non loin de musiques concrètes. Il n’en peut être autrement pour illustrer l’angoisse permanente et l’hostilité quotidienne dans ce monde de singes…Tout les titres « collent » parfaitement au film. Dramatique, entre ombre et soleil, cette musique à la nature tribale évoque en permanence la chasse à l’homme ( à juste titre dans « The Hunt »). Un score complexe, c’est certain, mais rien qu’à son écoute, le film vous reviendra à l’esprit. La cerise sur le gâteau pour ce CD, est la présence de la BO reconstituée du 3ème film « Les Evadés De La Planète Des Singes », nettement plus groove et digne des plus grand scores de Lalo Schifrin, ici sous forme d’un collage des différent moments du film, et intitulé « suite », l’intro de ce titre est GEANTISSIME !

    That proves maybe our same interest about this kind of music...
    that should not be a coincidence !
    I agree, the "suite" title from "Escape from the Planet of the Apes" is an absolut masterpiece, a wider panel of musical "colors", more than the "Planet of The Apes" original soundtrack ( more oppressive and sounding like a "human hunting party" score ! ). Many thanks for your last Morricone westerns soundtracks :)
